- Brave aren’t going to be doing outright in-page ad replacement (i.e. suppressing, say, a Display ad and inserting one of their own instead).
- Brave may eventually show Display-like ads on pages where 3rd party ads are suppressed, but they will not perform any ad placement without publisher consent. (This is a common, recurring misconception).
- Generally speaking, content and ad experiences will live separately.
- Opt-in ads will primarily appear to the user in a separate ad tab after a little push notification. However, for ads intended to appear on or in association with publisher sites, this will only be for publishers who’ve verified with the platform and opt into having ads displayed on their content (for which they’ll earn 70% of the ad revenue).
- Brave ads will be separate from the page content, i.e. open in separate private tabs, on a new tab page, or appear in a format similar to a push notification.
- Users will have control over some of the display options, or they can just let the platform render the ads as designed.
